NHD Topic: Harlem Renaissance

For my NHD project I will be working with Taylor Benns and Portia Speakes. Our project topic is Harlem Renaissance we will be focusing on, the roots of music and how it got started, we will also be taking it a step further and really researching how in the earlier years black people in the music industry were treated. Like how when blacks performed on stage how they, were only able to do that and nothing more, they weren’t allowed to talk to the whites they performed for, they were paid poorly, and they weren’t treated with the same respect.

They type of project we will be doing is either a Documentary, because me and my fellow group members are somewhat shy, so using our voices instead of our faces will be easier than actually performing.
